Metpack Makes the Mark – 2017

Chloe Wiggett-Scott

Metpack was just how I remembered it when I attended my first show in 2014. Three years on, there were more suppliers, more visitors and more fun for all! This year, the event organisers placed us in Hall 3.  I was told Hall 3 is ‘where all the action is’. They might have been right…

Gerard reminisced on his first Metpack in 1993. He and Annie travelled to Essen and displayed the first ever PC031 Pop and Tear Gauge – it was a very successful show for them. Whenever they return to Essen, it often feels like a second home for them, where it all began in a way. Since then, Versatile Technology has attended every Metpack event.

We were graced with the presence of Ogi, Michael and Raelene and we cannot forget Tim Bulman – our UK representative and support manager. Ogi and Raelene have attended other trade show events but for Michael it was his first show. I think it is fair to say he was very impressed with the show and views it as a great way to catch up with our customers – old and new.

For Gerard, he enjoys catching up with our British opposition for some light-hearted banter. Dan Pettitt from Torus Group was privy to a hand signed copy of Gerard’s Der Tiger book. The V.T. team and Torus also shared some beers and chatter back in the hotel bar. On the last day during pack up, V.T. and our friends at Sencon joined forces to give Torus’ gauges a new ‘face lift’. See some of the photos of the packing up antics below.

We hope all of our customers, friends and suppliers had a fantastic time and a safe return home. We all look forward to another successful Metpack in 2020!
